We left Italy from the Port of Ancona on the Adriatic by over-night ferry to Split, Croatia on the Dalmatian Coast; then a quick change of ferry onward to Hvar Island. There we visited Hvar Grad (town) its cathedral, a old monastery and Spanjol Fortress above the town. Then, next day,by bus, to Sucuraj at the east end of the island,  ferrying  across to the mainland and heading south by bus for Dubrovnik.
